Recently, I have been reading a Gujarati translation of Bhagwad Gita. The book tries to summarize the teachings of Gita. In 2nd Adhyaya of Gita, I read Krishna saying Arjuna that "whoever is born, has to go through childhood, youth, old age, and then die. Whoever dies has to reborn again, there is no escape from that." I found this very disturbing, I read it twice and probably I will try to read it again in that book and somewhere else. I am of the opinion (for whatever reasons) that you can balance your Karma and get free from the cycle of birth-rebirth, and I think this is what Moksha is. May be the translation is not done correctly, the interpretation of the person who wrote this book might be wrong, I don't know. This is why I do want to read the original books rather than reading some else's perspective and interpretation about it.
Then today morning, I was watching a program on Star TV called "Awakening with Brahmakumari", and there she said that you do not get free from the cycle of birth-rebirth ever permanently, but you get mukti from it for certain period of time. This period can be 100 yrs, few hundred yrs, or few thousand years, but you will need to come to earth sometime within a cycle. She said we go through Satyuga, Tretayuga, Dwaparyuga, and Kalyuga. Each of this is around 2500 yrs, and at the end of Kalyuga, God comes to earth and resets (finishes) the cycle (an episode). Some souls may come to earth only towards end of Kalyuga, within last 100 or 200 years, and hence they are there back home for a long period of time, and are here only for a short while. Some of us have to keep coming here often and for multiple times. So we all get Mukti, but it varies how long one gets Mukti. I am not very clear about this yet, but it seems interesting to read teachings of Brahmakumari too, it will give different perspective. But the point Brahmakumari also made is that you never get freed up from the cycle of birth-rebirth completely.

Thought Just Came From Nowhere - I am sure this is not just my imagination!!!
Lot of psychics could recall their past lives, and some could also recall what happens between two lives... most of them seem to agree on the fact that we choose the life we want to live based on some options, we prepare our chart and decide what kind of experiences we want to get from a particular life. After we make this decision we come to live that life in this world. The element of time doesn't exist on the other side. After reading experiences of these lucky bunch of people, I wondered sometimes why there is huge time gap between two lives sometimes, or why we just don't remember what happens in that huge time gap. There is also a belief that we only recall those past lives that we need to recall, or that affects us in this lifetime.
I was sitting in my patio one day last month, and suddenly I started thinking that we don't always come to this world called Earth to gain experiences. We must also be going to some other parallel worlds to gain completely different kinds of experiences. We always think that we have to balance our Karmas (or gain enough experience and do enough learning) to stop coming to this world. We don't need to come back to this world and get a human birht again since there is nothing that we can learn from this life system. I personally relate this to something called "Dev" in Hindu religion, you raise yourself from Human race to Devata. This is infact more learned souls, but I think they also need to goto some other worlds to gain different kinds of experiences. Probably we also goto different worlds in between our human births. There must be an End to all this sometime - but that is a different issue altogether. If there exists multiple worlds, why should we worry too much about the end of life on Earth, non-existence of human race... this will happen sometime, because there is not much that this planet can teach our souls... this may be better for our souls... but we will see each other on some other planet or something else where life exists in a completely different form and we probably will have more advanced souls going there...

New Perspective
These days I am reading "The Psychic Child", a book written by Sylvia Browne. This is an excellent book, and is very interesting. I definitely recommend reading this book to everyone, it will provide a new perspective to life.
I have read a lot about after life and reincarnation. I am very attracted to these topics, and have started believing in a few things based on my readings. This book is not very different than others in this aspect, but it definitely gives insights about a lot of para-psychological things that happen to a lot of people.
Couple of points have shaken me up, and I keep thinking about these since I read them. Firstly, I believed that we all human have to go through a cycle of rebirth for a fixed number of times (84 Lacs or 8.4 Millions), go through various species, and activate lower level 6 chakras before we can attain human birth. We do not have wisdom to take our decisions in these lives, we are more programmed to react to situations in a way, without having a choice to decide on our own. Through various experiences, we develop the lower 6 chakras, and then we never go back to those lower level species (animals). Once we become human, we need to develope 7 chakras to get out of this cycle of rebirths, and attain a higher level of species. This could be similar to what we refer as Devata in Hindu scriptures, and Angeles in western cultures. This all seem to fit with the Hindu religious belief system, and might be similar to what Gita says.
Contrary to this, this book says that there is life on the other side. That is our real life, and we come to human life to gain various experiences. That seems right so far. Then the book says that we are humans on the other side too. If we are spirits, why should we tie ourselves to a human or non-human? The book says, our lives on earth are like boot camps that we take to learn few things and grow ourselves. We become evolved species, but we will always remain humans. On the other side, we have Angels and animals both. Angels are much more advanced species than humans, but we will never become Angeles. Doesn't feel good, does it?? The Animals are much more advanced souls than humans. This definitely doesn't sound right at this time.
The book describes so many details about the other side, about some buildings on other side to be specific. This other side is really amongst us, just about 3 ft above the earth. We cannot see the souls on the other side since it operates at much higher frequency than us, that's why we cannot see or hear them. From what I have read in the past, I thought we need to lower our brain frequency to tune in with nature, tune in with our inner self. Brain has much more capabilities when it goes to lower frequencies. When brain goes into alpha state, beta state, etc., it can do astral travel, remember past lives. We bring the brain frequency down even during meditation. It would be very interesting to read the other book written by Sylvia Browne, the book is called "Life on the other side". I will write more on this topic once I read this other book after finishing the current book.

What is it with the old age
We come to life in a pure form, we don't hate anyone, probably don't love anyone. We are physically dependent on others, etc. I think we go through a circle, we get to know our surroundings, train our brain, and get into system. We learn all worldly things, attach ourselves to people and things, that might really not matter beyond this life, or even for this life if we can believe so.
When time comes, we probably start preparing for our departure from this world, lot of us slowly get to the state we came to the world. We start getting dependent on others physically, lot of worldly things stop bothering us, we stop caring for career, money, etc. We stop caring for what others say and think about us, slowly we start getting indifferent to even the people around us whom we considered closest.
There are few things about this old age that came to my mind, they are not necessarily right or wrong, but they are just thoughts. Everyone loves infants, we literally take care of them the whole day, clean their shit, feed them, etc., but we don't take that good care of old people in the same state. Why is that? Why do we even see the difference in our love towards the two?
What is the reason that we go through this cycle? Do we really have to learn something from this? When we get old, do we really understand this or we don't understand this and just live it out? If we know that we are going to go through this cycle, why the hell are we attached to all the materialistic matters?
If people do not understand the purpose of their life even when they get older, then why do they attempt so much to live as long as possible even after the fact (which they know) that their life is almost over, and adding couple of more years is really not going to make anything better but just increase suffering?
Some authors in some of the books opined that we cannot live this world until we have done the learning we were supposed to do here in this life and are not ready to go back with our lessons. We might be undecisive about this and might go to intermediate states (like Comma), but still can't live the world. Is this really true? If so, we really know why we are here and what we need to get from this life, but it's just how to sync our physical and non-physical selves... Is it just that???

Why Forgiveness For Everyone?
Few days back I was playing with Vaed, and we both were very happy about the time we were spending together and most important thing is that I knew it then. He started playing with my cellphone, and suddenly out of excitment hit my head with the cellphone a couple of times. It was very hard and it hurt me very much, but I was not angry or unhappy at all about this gesture from Vaed, and I put my hand on my head and started explaining him that he should not do this, it hurts dadda... etc.
After a while I started thinking, would it have been done by someone else, I would have reacted in a different way. Really, I forgave him right at that time or even better that I did not feel bad about it. There are couple of reasons I did not feel bad about it, one is my love for him and the other is that I am very well aware that he doesn't know that it hurts me when he hits me. He did not really do it intentionally and it is these experiences that will really make him understand and learn things.
They say that we (souls) come to physical life/body on earth to learn things that we decided to, or we need to from a lifetime. When we are in physical form, we don't really know that we decided to live through some experiences and others are helping us. We don't know that others don't really know that they are probably accumulating some Karmas by hurting us in a way, we are ignorant of these facts. Would we know these facts, we would not do such things. If so, and if we believe in this theory (till we personally experience it), why can't we forgive others, that do bad to us, from the bottom of our heart (like I did to Vaed)?
Eventually this is going to help us, since it will save us from accumulating a Karma and we will not need to come back to live through the experience where we hurt that other one and be in opposite roles.
Forgiveness For Every One!!! To help yourself!!!

Don't Attach Yourself To A Container!!!
Few months back our Son moved from bottle to Sippy Cup. He had a favourite sippy cup, and he only drank milk from that sippy cup. We tried multiple sippy cups, but he thought only that particular sippy cup had milk, all other cups couldn't.
One day I was trying to explain him that he should not look at the cup, but look at what was inside the cup. Focus on Milk and not the Cup. I tried to explain him in a few different ways, but he wouldn't surrender, wouldn't understand.
When I was trying to explain him, the thought came to my mind that we are also like him. He was not mature enough to understand that the milk could be in any of the sippy cups, and he should not attach himself to the cup but the milk. We are not mature enough to understand that it is Soul that matters and not the physical body. We focus too much on the physical body and think that's what we are. No matter how much we read and how much knowledgable people explain us, it is very hard for us to believe that the body is only a container like the sippy cup for Vaed (my Son), it is not what we are (milk). We will change containers, but still remain the same self (sippy cup will change, but the milk is still milk).
These kind of analogies strike me a lot of times, when I cross road sometimes... I sometimes think that everything in the world is governed by the same law and it is possible to find analogies in everything we do or see. It's just that it is beyond our 5 physical senses to perceive it.

Why Love For Everyone?
I was talking to a collegue over lunch today, and somehow we started talking about parapsychology, and then it moved to life after death, my belief system, etc. During our talks, I was trying to explain him what I believe, and I told him something very interesting which, I think, would be good to capture on a paper...
Every religion teaches us to love, the Holy Books tell us to love everyone equally, never feel hatred towards anyone. They tell us what will happen if we follow this in our life, etc. but none of the books tell us why. Lately I have been reading much about life after death, and read few books that share people's experience with life after death. These books are definitely easier for me to digest, since they talk about experience of people who are alive, who I can really talk to if I wish.
One thing I learnt from these books is that a group of souls come to physical life (body or this world) togather to help each other to learn something, to gain various experiences, to evolve based on new experiences. This group of souls, when between two lives, look at different things they need to work out to evolve out of the human species, and get freed from the cycle of birth-rebirth. They look at the different options available and choose one of the lives to live and experience. They choose different relations they want to experience with each other, and in a way they help each other gain those experiences and evolve. In order to do this, they have to do bad to each other sometimes, since we also need to go through suffering in order to learn.
When we are inside a particular life, it is very hard for us to see the reason behind someone doing something bad to us or something bad happening to us. But if we go a little higher, observe life from outside, we will know that specific thing happened for our own good. We can then appreciate the reason behind what we perceived as BAD. So if you look at it now, the person who really did bad to you in a lifetime was really helping you to evolve and achieve your life goals.
It is completely different perspective and depends on where you look at if from. These things are very hard to explain/understand when we are within a life trying to gain experiences. So, why should you hate a person that does something bad to you within a lifetime? Isn't he really trying to help you and doing good in a larger picture? This is probably the reason all religions tell us to always love everyone and never feel hatred towards anybody!!!
Makes sense to you now? It does to me...
